We are excited to welcome Shelby Lee for the first official MHC Rattlers ACAC Women’s Hockey season! Shelby will be joining us for her first season with the Rattlers Women’s Hockey Program, having played with the U18 Birtle/Hamiota Bruiskies of the Rural Manitoba Female Hockey League. Coach Baron says “Shelby is another player who knows what it takes to compete and win, having won the Rural Manitoba League Championship as Captain of her Bruiskies team last season. She is an excellent skater who can play as a forward or as a defender but prefers to put her skills to use on defence. She is a great puck-handling defender who can play a stay-at-home style or be another offensive threat from the backend that generates scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. She has a great work ethic, and her effort is never in question. She does what it takes to keep the puck out of our net and get it moving in an offensive direction, whether that is with her efficient passing or skating skills. Shelby is a fearless defender that is willing to block shots who possesses the vision and mental focus needed to anticipate the opponent’s next play and position herself effectively to prevent scoring chances. We are looking forward to having Shelby as part of a strong defensive lineup and we know she will compete at an elite level to help us find success.”
Shelby will be taking the Occupation Therapist/Physiotherapy Assistant Program in the Fall. Welcome to Rattler Nation, Shelby!
